Our new executive director Antonia Zierer, who joined our team in San Francisco in September 2015, has a broad background in promoting economic development and supporting business in Bavaria: she has worked as deputy head of division for economic policy at the Bavarian Prime Ministers’ office and as a specialist on foreign trade relations with Russia and Central Asia in the Department of Foreign Trade Promotion and Location Marketing at the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs. Before joining the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, she worked as a research assistant at INWISO in Passau and Munich, performing research in the field of economic and social policy. Prior to that Antonia gained work experience in international business and in economic development cooperation with the Bavarian Representative Office in Moscow as well as with IMB International Moscow Bank (now Unicredit) in Moscow and with KfW Development Bank in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Antonia was born and raised in Bavaria’s capital Munich. She holds diplomas of the University of Passau in Business Administration and in Economics and studied Russian Language and Economics at the Moscow State University (GUU) in Russia. She speaks English, Russian and German and has lived both in the USA and in Russia.
Mr. Florian Hubauer joined the Bavarian U.S. Office for Economic Development, LLC (West Coast Division) as a trainee and assistant to the Executive Director in June 2011 and was appointed Project Manager Marketing in September 2012. Florian holds an MBA degree of Otto‐Friedrich University of Bamberg with a focus on marketing, logistics and controlling. From 2009 to 2010 he was an Erasmus exchange student at Corvinus University of Budapest, Hungary.
Previously, Florian Hubauer gained work experience with Robert Bosch GmbH, Siemens AG and Lindner AG in Germany where he concentrated on marketing, project management and logistics.
The permanent staff of the Bavarian office is supported by several trainees with a strong background in the field of business administration, marketing, economics and international law.
